Here to help.
Local Board.
The local board team is made up of Richard Northey (chair, Communities and Parks), Kerrin Leoni (deputy chair, Culture, Arts and Events and Environment), Julie Sandilands (Environment and Transport), Graeme (Transport and Planning), Sarah Trotman (Economic Development and Communities), Adriana Avendano Christie (Parks and Economic Development), and me (Planning and Culture, Arts and Events). Do get in touch with us direct if you have any questions connecting to those portfolios.
Opportunities to Submit.
There are opportunities to submit on various issues at a local and national government level including the local board plan that goes on through early 2020. The local board members will be out talking to people directly (we will be at Myers Park Medley on the 16th February) or you can write to us or email me with ideas on your priorities for Waitemata. There will be information online and in local libraries on the draft plan in April so please also do give feedback. Some of the past plans can be found here:
Community Building.
Throughout the term it is possible to come and raise an issue with the board at their monthly public business meetings, the afternoon of the third Tuesday of the month at 52 Swanson Street. In the past a group of kids have asked for the return of monkey bars in Grey Lynn Park. Others have asked for support in creating community gardens. You can book a slot in advance with Liz Clemm.
